Do not give up. Fulfill your New Years resolutions this 2022!

Tell me if this has happened to you? Every new year we usually propose resolutions that we want to follow during the year. These might include losing weight, exercising, eating healthily, and not putting off homework until the last minute. But year after year, we see how we forget about these goals and when we realize it, we can't even meet them for half a year. "Why can't we just stick to our New Year's resolutions?" surely you have wondered. In this blog you will find five reasons why it is so difficult for us to focus and fulfill our purposes, according to Jennifer Cohen, a former contributor to Forbes magazine, specializing in healthy lifestyles.
1. We do not set realistic goals for ourselves.
This is very common because of our anxiety to get results soon, but in order to see results and know that we are getting closer every day, we have to state our goals specifically, work on them every day and make sure they are not exaggerated. Use amounts that you know you can follow and clearly state the steps you are going to take and define the finish line. This way, you will be able to evaluate and see how the small advances add up to generating great transformations.
2. We do not plan properly.
Set a time limit for you to define a real commitment to yourself. If you want to see results and really reach the goal, you must plan the time in which you plan to fulfill your resolutions. This way, you challenge yourself and continue to be motivated until you reach your goal without losing momentum.
3. We don't make them a habit.
It is said that it takes at least 21 days to start forming a habit. If you want to have the motivation to reach your goal, you have to be consistent with the steps you take to get there. It will get easier the more you incorporate the habit into your life. That way you won't have to spend energy thinking about whether to do it or not, but your body will automatically take you there.
4. We do not have or do not seek support.
It is easier and more fun to work on our goals when we do it hand in hand with someone. You feel more passionate when someone supports you and even demands that you move forward until you reach your goal. Make sure that this person is in tune with your dream, and even that they have more experience than you in reaching that goal, as it will open up opportunities for you and even show you that reaching your goal is not as difficult as you imagine. If you have family and friends, take advantage of their support and thank them. If you have to find a group in which everyone supports each other, do it.
5. We do not measure our progress.
You can't get there your goal if you walk blindly. You have to measure and celebrate each small achievement to know how much you are advancing, how much you have left and how much you want to accomplish every so often.
Now that you know the five most common reasons why many people abandon their New Year's resolutions, you know what to focus more on. Do not focus only on the overall goal but also on the small details. Consider each reason deeply and edit your New Year's resolutions if you feel it's necessary. Follow our advice and you will see that this year you will fulfill them!
