Let’s be women leaders who empower each other
MARZO 21, 2022 | LĂŤDERES | POR ROCĂŤO DURAN
March is Women’s History Month. In these 31 days we should celebrate ourselves and all women who go beyond the norms of society. Here's to women of color, indigenous women, young women, older women, working women. Also for women mothers, and for all women breaking stereotypes every day.
Â
In a HuffPost column written by Lexi Herrick, she shared 6 ways you can be an empowered woman who empowers other women.
Â
1.   Stay away from negativity and the gossip that circulates.Â
Do not be part of a toxic environment in which women are always put in a position to compete. It's about leaning and climbing together. So don't talk bad about another woman because you don't know what she has overcome in her life. Every woman has her own valuable story. A life in which they made mistakes and suffered, but they excelled.
2. Help other women with their professional and personal goals..
Do it whenever you have the opportunity. We must grow hand in hand. If a woman has the desire to be a mother, support her. If a woman wants to be independent and let go of negative people in her life, support her. If a woman is transgender or getting divorced or wants to change her life and faces constant criticism, support her. Let's support each other!.
3. Share your story.
Be vulnerable and let other women find you in your honesty.
Remember that there are so many women and girls who want to go as far as you do, learn from your mistakes, and be successful. They will thank you for sharing what you have experienced and will be inspired to share their story as well.
4. Fight for women you work with.
Be a cheerleader for the powerful women you know and they will cheer for you. It took us decades to get to where we are today, but we learned to celebrate other women's achievements because no one will if we don't.
5. Support other women to make difficult decisions, come up with new ideas, and get out of their comfort zone.
As women it has been very difficult not to doubt ourselves. But today we are who we are because we raised our voices, we pursued goals that they told us were impossible, and we kept going, that makes us great women!
6. Be the example.
Empower yourself. Then you will know that believing in yourself is what gives you strength. You are your number one fan, you know your limits and you expand them. You are a powerful woman and from there you can empower other women.
When they ask you who you are, answer that you are an empowered woman without being ashamed. Professional tennis player and Olympian Serena Williams once said “Every woman's success story should be an inspiration to another. We are stronger when we encourage each other.” Let's continue celebrating this month dedicated to women and empowering ourselves every day of the year.
