The importance of being grateful

To make that every day counts, and that processes that have been generated allow us to transform ourselves in a positive way, and on a daily basis, whether with small or large actions, it is necessary to start with the practice of a human value, capable of creating an atmosphere of trust, security and warmth: thankfulness. That is why in this blog we want to talk to you about 5 very important reasons for which you should be grateful and simple but forceful actions with which you can touch those around you with this feeling, which not only from the personal but from the collective, it has a powerful magic.
Let’s start by talking about what gratitude is, from Mary L. Gavin’s perspective “Gratitude is stopping to realize and value the things we usually take for granted, like having a place to live, food, clean water, friends, family, and even access to the computer” things that can be very common in your life.
It is taking a moment to reflect on how lucky we are in general and not only when good things happen to us, it is very important”. And it is that when we really pause and look around with a positive attitude and with love, there are really many more reasons to celebrate life, than t reasons to go around complaining and cultivating an attitude of permanent nonconformity.
But I want to clarify that this is not an invitation to remain dissatisfied, on the contrary, dissatisfaction takes us out of the comfort zone, but for our lives to flow we must not be extreme, we must establish a balance and also show gratitude for all those miracles that occur daily around us, and that sometimes routine and eagerness do not allow us to see clearly.
Did you know that being grateful has an effect on both emotional and physical health? In an article by Rosario Cardozo for the OCCMUNDIAL, she reveals that people who are grateful and express it have optimal brain function compared to others. This is because our hypothalamus is activated when we feel that great satisfaction of doing good deeds for others.Additionally, a chemical substance such as dopamine is also released, classified as a neurotransmitter capable of relieving pain not only in the physical but also in the emotional part. How nice to know that being thankful is a pain reliever for the soul:
Next, I want to mention 5 very important reasons to thank:
1. Life, an immense reason for gratitude: The fact of being present and waking up to a new day, doesn’t it seem like a huge reason to be thankful for? As soon as you open your eyes, thank and celebrate that life has given you a new opportunity and if you want, you can get the best of it.
2. Love in all its forms and manifestations: Feeling loved gives us every day a reason to be thankful for. Feeling that someone else cares about us, that we help shape their world, and that we are creating each other. Who comes to your mind? When was the last time you told them that you love them and how important they have been in your life?
3. Constant learning: what would be the point of coming to the world if not to learn? Counting on day-to-day spaces, situations and people who give us lessons, bitter and sweet, undoubtedly form an important part of the reasons to be filled with gratitude. Remember both the good and the bad moments have made you strong, resilient, and empathetic, thanks to them you are who you are today and they have inspired you in some way to challenge your limits and to be better.
4. Have basic conditions to live with dignity: Having a roof under which to shelter you, to share with the family, a plate of hot food on your table, take a good shower and enjoy the water, are things that you see so routine and that many out there would consider a true fortune, small privileges, that really deserve that every day you say Thank you!
5. Health: The fact that not only your body but also your mind at this time has an adequate functioning, is a privilege against which you cannot be indifferent and which you cannot abuse. The best way to thank your body and mind for the life that it allows itself to experience on this plane is by eating well, giving yourself moments of tranquility and happiness.

Today is a great day to take the first step and here we suggest ways to do it:
• When you open your eyes, you must thank for a new day.
• Express in details or words your gratitude to those people who, through their actions, give you moments of joy and learning.
• Write the word gratitude and either on colored sheets or post it and paste them in different parts of your home or work, this will attract the attention of others and will give them the idea about how to use the magic of gratitude by inviting them to use this word.
Remember that the practice of thanking should be daily, start these actions of gratitude and you will notice a great change in you, your attitude and the people around you.
